No one really wants to buy something extra, that’s proprietary, that makes your lens functional. But here we are you and me. Buying it anyway. It works as intended. Interesting idea, weird execution.

It's a shame you have to buy this lens station to update firmware to Samyang/Rokinon lenses. However, it's possible Sony will not allow the firmware upgrades through the camera.
