75mm F1.8 AF Compact Full Frame Telephoto with Lens Station (Sony E)

Samyang’s AF 75mm F1.8 Full Frame Telephoto Lens for Sony E mount offers a fast maximum aperture within a compact design. It is Rokinon’s fifth compact lens and its ninth auto focus specifically formulated for Sony mirrorless cameras. Weighing just 8.1 ounces and measuring just 2.7 inches in length, it is the lightest and smallest AF full frame portrait-length lens currently in the market.

The 75mm lens’ significant reduction in weight and size is effectively paired with a sophisticated optical construction to provide excellent performance and versatility. Five special elements (3 Extra Low Dispersion and 2 High Refractive Index) plus Ultra Multi-Coating are utilized to create results with incredible sharpness, low chromatic aberration, and greater contrast and color fidelity. Its portability and performance can also be enjoyed with Sony E mount APS-C sensor models where it performs as a short telephoto with a focal length equivalent to 112.5mm.

The 75mm focal length and F1.8 aperture combine to provide precise selective focus control that effectively isolates subjects from the background while still including enough background to help tell a story. Beautiful bokeh at all apertures exhibiting natural, circular, out-of-focus highlights can be achieved due to specifically designed optics and the 9 blade rounded iris. In addition, it features a new Stepping Motor (STM) design for faster, quieter and more accurate focusing for both stills and video applications.

A new notable feature is the addition of a Custom Switch. The Custom Switch enables the focusing ring to function either as a manual focus control (Mode 1) or as an aperture control (Mode 2). Additional custom switch functions are being developed that can be added via firmware updates. Updates as well as fine tuning focusing parameters can be achieved on the AF 75mm F1.8 and other AF Samyang Sony E mount lenses via the accessory Samyang Lens Station model SYIOLS-E.

Each Samyang AF 75mm F1.8 Full Frame Lens for Sony E is equipped with a reversible lens hood, lens caps, and a custom fitted case.
